Mission Statement:

Fathers of Massachusetts are a non-profit organization of men and women advocating for the institution of fatherhood, encircling the full range of human behaviors and events that flow from the father-child relationship. We work to promote shared parenting and to end the discrimination and persecution faced by divorced and unwed fathers, in society at large and specifically in Massachusetts. FOM is recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. (So, if you want to make a charitable contribution, it may qualify for a tax deduction!) Our website, which you are looking at, is our effort to assist fathers, children, and families.
The divorce system has evolved into nothing but a moneymaker and power machine for lawyers, judges and other government bureaucrats. The family court system is out of control and ruining the lives of millions of parents and children daily. It has been scientifically proven that when both parents have equal custody rights children do enormously better. Equal rights and custody must be mandated unless there is real proof of harm.
Unfortunately this is a simple scientific and statistical fact – Not an opinion. Over 80% of custody awards are for sole custody and this has been proven the absolute WORST arrangement for children - yet it is the easiest and most profitable for lawyers and the states. Therefore it is a fact that divorce courts today are destroying millions of children's chances of growing up normal. In fact the chance of divorce of a child later in life goes up 93% when raised in a sole-custody home.
State family courts operate unconstitutionally, without regard to the highest laws of the land by ignoring Supreme Court rulings, case law and the many fundamental guarantees of the constitution. They intimidate, drive people into bankruptcy and tell people they "can't win" and they are right because the game is rigged. Currently, more than 27 million children-39% of all US children-now live apart from their father. In a typical year, well over one-third of these children won't even see their dad. Research shows that the costs of fatherlessness are high. Children with little or no contact with their fathers are more likely to drop out of school and become involved in drug and alcohol abuse; girls are more likely to become pregnant as teens, and boys are more likely to become involved in crime and violence.
Today men are treated like criminals in these courts, and not even believed, so that the judges can do whatever they want.
Please remember we are not lawyers and can not, and do not, offer legal advice.
